More than 400 students and members of the college community turned out on May 5 to celebrate outstanding student achievement at CSM’s annual Scholarship Awards Reception.

Following remarks by Mike Claire and Diana Bennett, Academic Senate president, the awards were presented to each of the scholarship recipients.

With many of the donors in the audience, the event provided the opportunity for student honorees to meet with the donors that contributed to their scholarships.

According to CSM’s Financial Aid Office, 40 high school students and 194 CSM students received 322 scholarship awards totaling $200,255.

Following the ceremony, guests gathered to enjoy a wonderful buffet in the Fine Arts Courtyard provided by Pacific Dining.

The event was organized by Karen Chadwick, Claudia Menjivar, Dennis Tordesillas, Henry Villareal and Jennifer Hughes.
