Starting in fall 2010, College of San Mateo will offer a dynamic, integrative curriculum in digital media that provides hands-on training in four areas of concentration:  broadcast & electronic media, graphic design, journalism and web design.

Students interested in any of the four areas will have the opportunity to develop a broad knowledge base across each of the concentrations by taking four core courses, all of which are available in fall 2010:  Media in Society (DGME 100); Writing Across the Media (DGME 101); Media Law & Ethics (DGME 102; and Thinking Visually: Fundamentals of Two-Dimensional Design (DGME 103).

After taking the core courses, students can specialize in one or more of the areas of concentration by choosing from more than 30 courses such as TV Studio Production, Basic Sound, Newswriting, Newspaper Production, Web Design, Information Architecture and Interface Design, and Media Design, among many others.  A complete listing of fall 2010 digital media class offerings is available at collegeofsanmateo.edu/digitalmedia.
