As good as College of San Mateo’s football team has been this season — and it has been very good in building a 3-0 non-conference record, including two wins by lopsided scores — CSM coach Bret Pollack believes there is room for improvement.

CSM artists installed a colorful mosaic on the exterior of Samaritan House’s new headquarters on Pacific Boulevard. On Tuesday afternoon, the nonprofit thanked the gold-hearted artists with a gold-colored plaque placed just below the mural.

The Bulldogs (3-0), ranked No. 2 in the nation by JCGridwire.com, are coming off one of the greatest two-week stretches in program history. CSM whipped West Valley 77-14 over the weekend, coming a week after destroying Reedley, 51-10.

In the wake of the devastating fire in San Bruno (California), the San Mateo Community College District is housing fire victims at a a 60-unit apartment complex on the Cañada campus in Redwood City.

Twelve incoming freshmen proudly displayed the certificates they earned as participants in CSM’s inaugural Summer Bridge Program. Summer Bridge is designed to help students make a successful transition from high school to college life through a holistic approach that combines academic, social and personal aspects.
