Patriots defensive back Julian Edelman, a Woodside High and College of San Mateo alum, has been the object of New York Giants receivers’ fancy this week leading up to the Super Bowl.

Football staff at Tarleton State did not have to sweat out a verbal commitment from College of San Mateo running back Vaughn Smith this morning. That’s because the recruiting guidelines used in high school don’t match those at the junior college level. Bulldogs have taken advantage of the opportunity to transfer to four-year programs right away.
