The College of San Mateo Jazz Ensembles, directed by Mike Galisatus, will present a concert with guest artist drummer, Carl Allen on Wednesday, March 23 at 7:30 PM in the College of San Mateo Theatre.

With over 200 recordings to his credit, Mr. Allen has performed and recorded with Freddie Hubbard, and has shared the stage with Michael Brecker, Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, Terence Blanchard, and a host of others.

The concert will feature contemporary compositions by Dave Holland and Alan Ferber, as well as some of the large jazz ensemble classics from Count Basie, John Clayton and Thad Jones.

In addition to the concert, Carl Allen will be giving a workshop in the College of San Mateo Band Room (Building 2, Room 150) from 4:30-5:30 pm.

Tickets are $15 general (Concert and Workshop), $10 students and seniors (Concert and Workshop), and $5 (workshop only), and may be purchased at the door.
