A stunning doubleheader sweep of College of San Mateo — the No. 1 ranked team in Northern California — ended the Bulldogs’ season Saturday. No. 17 Los Medanos (27-16 overall) rebounded from Friday’s 18-0 walloping at the hands of CSM to score back-to-back victories of 3-1 and 5-4 Saturday at Bulldog Stadium, helped by five CSM errors on the day, to win the best-of-three series.

Last year, Erica Vong etched her name in College of San Mateo lore as the school’s first state champion in women’s swimming. This year, she was honored as the top swimmer in the state and proved CSM’s greatest women’s swimmer of all time.
