CSM catapulted into the No. 2 spot in the state rankings after thoroughly dominant 51-12 victory over Butte, which at least for now surrendered its claim as the top team in Northern California.

Making the first start of his collegiate career, the freshman quarterback racked up 347 total yards to lead the No. 6-ranked College of San Mateo Bulldogs to a 51-12 rout of No.2 Butte College Saturday at College Heights Stadium. The win is CSM’s fourth straight to start the season.

The attendees had the opportunity to form into teams and compete in a cybersecurity competition. Two of CSM’s teams won the cybersecurity competition among 25 teams in the Bay Area. The third CSM team got to the “finish line” soon thereafter, making CSM the first college in the Bay Area where all teams staved off the simulated cyber-threats in the allotted time!

A house designed and built by William Whiffler, former CSM professor of architecture, has been entered into the National Register of Historic Places.

Five career programs from College of San Mateo’s Division of Business & Technology were recognized with “Star” status by the California Strong Workforce initiative.

KCSM programmer Jesse “Chuy” Varela is the 2017 recipient of JazzWeek’s Bobby Jackson Award, which recognizes a jazz programmer’s professionalism, programming abilities, and contribution to jazz radio.

The first full eclipse since 1979 created a huge buzz among sky-gazers across the country, and more than 2,000 people gathered at College of San Mateo to view the eclipse on August 21st.

The No. 7-ranked Bulldogs (3-0 overall) shut down Fresno City College’s final three possessions to hold on for a 21-19 victory Saturday at Ratcliffe Stadium. With the win, CSM is off to a 3-0 start for the second time in three years.

College of San Mateo caught two big breaks in the fourth quarter Saturday to escape from Sierra College with a 37-36 win in Week 2 of the community college football season.

While temperatures for the 2017 community college football opener in San Mateo surpassed 100 degrees, the College of San Mateo Bulldogs were keen to rebrand the overbearing weather with a ’Dog day of their own. And boy did the ’Dogs start in style.
