The Bulldogs ran it and ran it, and then ran it some more. The result was College of San Mateo (3-0 Bay 6, 6-2 overall) scoring 35 unanswered first-half point en route to a 49-7 dismantling of Diablo Valley College (0-3, 2-6) Saturday at College Heights Stadium.

In a healthy economy, it can be difficult for companies to find employees with the right skills and training. That is why CSM has created the Career and Workforce Hub to connect Career and Technical Education (CTE) students and alumni with employers. The Hub bridges the gap between employers and students by providing students with career exploration and preparation services, and working with businesses to create internships and employment placement.

College students are challenged every day by the cost of living in the Bay Area. Many struggle with bills, debt and food insecurity. In order to support their educational goals, College of San Mateo has partnered with United Way Bay Area to bring a SparkPoint Center to its campus.

More than 170 CSM faculty and staff took part in a day of presentations, panels and professional development workshops designed to engage the campus community for Flex Day on October 10, twice as many as attended last year.

More than 100 CSM students had the opportunity to hear the former Prime Minister of Australia speak on campus. The Honorable Kevin Rudd, who served as Prime Minister of Australia from 2007-2010 and again in 2013, spoke in the CSM Theatre on September 13 about U.S.-China relations.

This summer, the inspirational former CSM Track Coach Joe Mangan was inducted into the California Community College Cross Country/Track and Field Coaches Association Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony was held August 4 at the group’s annual convention in Walnut Creek.

For the second consecutive year, the Bulldog Softball team will play Stanford in a fall match. The action begins at 5pm on Thursday, October 25 at Boyd and Jill Smith Family Stadium on the Stanford campus.

CSM has added an exciting new adjunct faculty member to its extensive roster of working artists. Pantea Karimi is a well-established artist who works in installation art, prints, virtual reality and video projection.

One hundred thirty-two yards of total offense isn’t usually going to lend to a win of any convincing authority. But it was all the offense the College of San Mateo Bulldogs needed to march past Laney College 27-18 last Friday in Oakland.

For the College of San Mateo Bulldogs, great cornerbacks are made, not born. This is certainly the case with Saturday’s starting corners in the Bay 6 Conference opener, Andre Neal and Damari Cual-Davis.
