The untrained eye will look at the first three weeks of the season for the College of San Mateo football team and marvel at the numbers. The Bulldogs are 3-0 and moved up to No. 2 in the state in the JC Athletic Bureau Coaches’ Poll. They’ve beaten College of the Siskiyous, San Joaquin Delta and American River by a combined score of 129-20, having scored 40 points or more in all three. Yet CSM head coach Tim Tulloch believes the Bulldogs can be so much better.

Luke Bottari was locked in and showed off his depth of receivers as the College of San Mateo Bulldogs scored a decisive win over a notoriously bothersome foe. No. 3-ranked CSM (3-0 overall) racked up 504 yards of total offense to roll past No. 5 American River College 42-10 Saturday at College Heights Stadium. It marks the first time the Bulldogs have defeated the Beavers in a regular-season game since 2015.

Assessment plans for disciplines, services and learning centers are due Oct. 31. Please see the College Assessment Committee’s website for details,

ESL faculty members Evan Kaiser and Todd Windisch will be conducting weekly equity office hours for colleagues from Oct 1 through November 26.

It took mere seconds for the College of San Mateo Bulldogs to start painting the field blue in the home opener at College Heights Stadium. Within the opening 16 seconds of Saturday’s 43-3 walloping of San Joaquin Delta, the Bulldogs had scored twice — before they even took their first offensive snap. “I don’t know if we’ve done that on a home opener,” CSM head coach Tim Tulloch said. “But that’s a good way to start it off.”

Ranked No. 19 in the state in the first women’s volleyball poll of the season, College of San Mateo (6-2) brings a 3-game winning streak home on Wednesday (Sept. 11) against No. 22 Sierra College (4-2) at 2 p.m. That’s part of a doubleheader that begins at noon – with No. 29 Foothill (2-3) playing Sierra.

When Luke Bottari hit Terrell Carter with a 20-yard pass Saturday during the first quarter of College of San Mateo’s season opener, it marked a changing of the guard in Bulldogs football.
