College of San Mateo was among a select number of California Community Colleges to be honored with a 2023 Excellence in Placement Award, hosted by The Campaign for College Opportunity. CSM was awarded Campwide Transfer-Level English Enrollment and Equity Designation for LatinX Transfer-Level English Enrollment. The award ceremony will take place on May 31.

Skyline College and College of San Mateo are set for Tuesday’s second-place Coast North Conference baseball tiebreaker battle in San Mateo after both teams won Saturday. CSM smashed four home runs for a 14-4 triumph at rival Cañada College in a then second-place tiebreaking contest. Skyline won 12-5 over visiting City College of San Francisco in San Bruno.

Defending state champion College of San Mateo exploded for five runs in the fifth inning and took a 9-1 mercy-rule win over visiting West Valley College. The win breaks a first-place Coast Conference tie between the two teams and propels the Bulldogs to their fourth straight league title.

College of San Mateo’s Project Change Learning Community has positively transformed the lives of juvenile justice-impacted youth on CSM’s campus for many years. Project Change provides wrap-around student support services, direct access to postsecondary education for incarcerated youth, and in-person college instruction inside juvenile youth facilities.

Skyline College and College of San Mateo entered this week tied for second place in the Coast North Conference baseball race following last week’s three-game local series. Skyline took the first contest, 4-1, in San Bruno, but then dropped the next two games with the Bulldogs, 7-4, and 14-0.
