Prospective students and their families gathering at Connect to College.

CSM’s Connect to College event on Thursday, May 4, was a resounding success, attracting over 300 attendees, including members from the local community and their families! The event was valuable for individuals interested in exploring the college’s numerous academic programs and student support services, including the college’s Free College enrollment fee waiver for qualifying San Mateo County residents.

During the tabling portion of the event, more than 40 academic departments and student support programs were present, allowing attendees to engage with representatives and gain insights into the resources and opportunities available to them as CSM students. While enjoying dinner, attendees watched presentations on Financial Aid Services, Promise Scholars Program, Extended Opportunity Programs & Services (EOPS), and Transfer Services. The program concluded with a panel of current and former CSM students sharing informative and insightful experiences.

All prospective student attendees left with a goodie bag, and three won a prize drawing for a $400 scholarship good for the upcoming academic year.

“This year had a great turnout!” shared College of San Mateo’s College Recruiter, Estela Garcia. “It was great to see so many people from our community eager to learn more about what CSM offers. We’re thrilled to welcome all these new students this summer and fall!”

Connect to College was an exciting and informative evening for anyone keen to learn more about College of San Mateo. It was a valuable opportunity to explore CSM’s excellent programs and resources. The annual event is highly recommended for anyone interested in discovering what CSM offers.
