Following the announcement of Dr. Jennifer Taylor-Mendoza’s departure from College of San Mateo (CSM), Dr. Richard Storti was appointed as CSM’s Acting President by San Mateo County Community College District (SMCCCD) Interim Chancellor Melissa Moreno. The position was approved by the District Board of Trustees at their July 26 regular meeting.
“I am very grateful to Dr. Storti for his generosity and flexibility in serving the CSM campus as we continue to dialogue with the campus community about our next steps toward hiring a longer-serving president,” said Interim Chancellor Moreno. “Until then, the depth and breadth of Dr. Storti’s experience positions him well in this acting role as we seamlessly welcome students for the fall semester.”
Previously serving as the Executive Vice Chancellor of Administrative Services at SMCCCD, Dr. Storti brings a deep understanding of the intricacies of higher education. His prior roles, including Deputy Chancellor of West Hills Community College District, Assistant Superintendent/Vice President at Pasadena City College, and Vice President at Fullerton College, demonstrate his extensive background in educational leadership.
A native Californian, Dr. Storti’s academic journey includes a doctorate in education from the University of Southern California, a master’s in accountancy from California State University, Fullerton, and a bachelor’s in business administration accountancy from California State University, Long Beach.
