College of San Mateo continues to roll over its Bay 6 Conference opponents, the latest a 66-3 victory at Chabot College in Hayward on Saturday afternoon. The defending state and league champion Bulldogs (3-1 Bay 6, 7-1 overall) took a quick 21-0 first-quarter lead over the host Gladiators.

On Monday, October 16, CSM hosted the impactful “Send Silence Packing” exhibit, organized by Active Minds, a national mental health advocacy organization focusing on college campuses. This event was designed to initiate candid conversations about mental health, diminish the stigma surrounding mental illness, and encourage students to seek help and support for themselves and their peers.

Defending 3C2A state champion College of San Mateo (6-1) moved up a place to No. 5 after topping Diablo Valley, 56-7, which was the only team to defeat the Bulldogs in 2022. CCSF and CSM share the Bay 6 lead at 2-0 and meet in the league finale.

The College of San Mateo Bulldogs, en route to last season’s state football championship, experienced one hiccup. A second-half meltdown on Feb. 21, 2022 at Diablo Valley College saw a 21-point halftime lead slip away in a 23-21 defeat, the only loss of CSM’s season. The memory loomed large through the past week in the Bulldogs’ preparation for DVC’s visit Saturday to Bulldog Stadium. The preparation, done with a chip on the Bulldogs’ collective shoulder, certainly paid off.

The College of San Mateo Bulldogs scored more points than they have in seven years, and it was the Dogs’ defense that set the scoring spree in motion.

College of San Mateo (CSM) and its Fire Technology Program hosted the NorCal Women in the Fire Service in an enriching collaboration with NorCal First Alarm Girls Fire Camp on Saturday, September 16, 2023. This groundbreaking initiative, offered without charge, spanned two days, targeting regional high school girls from grades 9–12. The event was curated to provide these budding professionals with a comprehensive introduction to the rewarding career field of fire service in the Bay Area.

On Sunday, October 8, the baseball field was filled with smiles as the CSM baseball team took to the pitch, not for their regular game but for a special event with The Miracle League of San Francisco Peninsula. Under the leadership of their new head coach, Riley Goulding, the Bulldogs partnered with this local organization to spend quality time with disabled ball players of all ages to share the love of baseball.

In a recently unveiled study by one of CSM’s partnering organizations, United Way Bay Area (UWBA), the effectiveness of CSM’s SparkPoint Center is shining through. The study findings reveal that students who received SparkPoint’s robust services exhibited a significantly higher tendency to stay enrolled and attain their academic objectives.
