The College of San Mateo softball team (11-1) has won 10 straight and is flexing quite a bit of depth on the mound. Three Lady Bulldogs combined on a five-inning no-hitter last Friday in an 11-0 mercy-rule win at home over Folsom Lake (3-5).
Kennedie Magorian (Oakmont-Foresthill) earned the win, firing three hitless innings, while walking three and striking out three. Siona Halwani (Half Moon Bay) worked a hitless fourth, and Nohemi Liviingston (Capuchino) — who fired a complete-game regulation no-hitter Feb. 3 against Siskiyous — closed out the no-no in the fifth.
CSM won two more in a round-robin doubleheader Saturday at Sierra College. The Bulldogs nearly fired another no-hitter in a 5-0 win over Feather River (2-4), as Magorian worked six hitless innings while walking two and striking out 11. Livingston entered in the seventh and surrendered a leadoff single to Brianna Lopez-Cortez before closing it out. CSM also topped Sierra (3-5) for a 2-1 win, with Halwani working 6 1/3 innings to earn the win. Her record improves to 4-1. Livingston got the last two outs to close out the victory.
