The Bulldogs are headed to the second round of the Northern California Regional Playoffs following a road win in their opener.

Jill David led CSM (17-11) with 12 points after sinking four three-pointers. Simone Murray totaled nine points, six rebounds, and five assists while Heaven Payton also scored nine points.

College of San Mateo and Skyline College are set for post-season basketball play. The women’s state playoffs begin Wednesday with No. 18 NorCal seed College of San Mateo (16-11), which finished third in the Coast North Conference, playing at No. 15 Reedley (16-12) of the Central Valley Conference.

The unbeaten College of San Mateo softball team has sprinted to a 10-0 start, having outscored three opponents this week by a 23-0 count. 

Honors Project learning community student KyiLei Aye has made extraordinary strides at College of San Mateo (CSM). This fall, KyiLei received a prestigious internship at Stanford University’s Winetraub Lab, where she worked on cutting-edge computational biology research. Her exceptional contributions earned her recognition as a co-author on a published scholarly paper—a significant milestone for any aspiring researcher. She was joined in this achievement by fellow CSM and CORE student Emilie Manning, who also served as a co-author.

A new hourlong documentary about the legacy and cultural relevance of jazz, featured recently at the San Francisco Independent Film Festival, celebrates the dedicated announcers at KCSM for teaching the world about what they consider to be America’s only original art form. 

The San Mateo City Council and Mayor Rob Newsom honored College of San Mateo’s Football team during the regular meeting of the city council on Monday, February 3. The evening celebrated the team’s incredible 2024 football season, which culminated in state and national championships. Local leaders, community members, and college officials recognized the team’s athletic achievements and commitment to excellence in academics.
