College of San Mateo celebrated its 103rd Commencement Ceremony at the historic College Heights Stadium, where families, faculty, staff, and community members gathered to honor the achievements of the Class of 2025. Under a sunny sky full of cheers, 1,282 degrees and certificates were awarded to 928 graduates, ranging in age from 16 to 80—‌a powerful reminder of the transformative and lifelong nature of education.

Two days, two track state championships for College of San Mateo.

The College of San Mateo softball team completed a perfect run through the 3c2A playoffs, winning eight straight games to capture its second state championship — adding to the title won in 2022.

State finals competition at CSM begins on Friday, May 16, at 9:30 a.m. with the decathlon 100 meters and the hammer throws. Three other field events are scheduled opening day — the triple jumps, pole vaults, and javelin throws. The women’s heptathlon starts at 10 a.m. with the 100 meter hurdles.

With four Northern California gold medals in hand, College of San Mateo track and field athletes will return to their home at College Heights for the 3C2A state championships, May 16-17.

The Promise Scholars Program (PSP) at College of San Mateo (CSM) is a transformative initiative designed to support first-time, full-time students in achieving their educational goals. Modeled after the City University of New York’s Accelerated Study in Associate Programs (ASAP), PSP offers comprehensive support services, including up to three years of tuition and fee waivers, textbook assistance, transportation and food incentives, and personalized academic counseling.

The College of San Mateo Bulldogs dropped the first game of their best-of-three regional playoff series Friday against visiting Reedley College. Twenty-eight runs and 31 hits later, the Bulldogs are moving on to the Super Regional.

College of San Mateo received the No. 2 Northern California seed for the California Community College Athletic Association softball tournament and will play at home prior to the state tournament at West Valley College in Saratoga, May 15-18.
