The College of San Mateo women’s basketball team completes first half Coast North Conference women’s basketball play 5 p.m. Wednesday, after sweeping a pair of crossover contests with the top teams in the Coast South last week.

College of San Mateo swept two at home Friday and Saturday from Shasta College, while Skyline College swept a home-and-away two-game set from San Joaquin Delta. Cañada College split a two-game series at home against Sacramento City College.

Keshawn Johnson stole an inbound pass and executed a quick lay-up with 41 seconds left as the College of San Mateo men’s basketball team rallied for a win Wednesday. Johnson gave the host Bulldogs a 65-64 lead as they mounted a huge comeback for a 67-64 Coast North Conference men’s basketball victory over county rival Skyline College Wednesday evening at College Heights Gymnasium.

Both the Skyline and College of San Mateo women’s basketball team both posted impressive, opening-night Coast North Conference women’s basketball triumphs in their Friday openers.

The College of San Mateo football team had four players earn All-American honors, led by the state Coach of the Year, as the Bulldogs put the finishing touches on its second straight 3C2A state championship.
