College of San Mateo (17-0) is no stranger to winning streaks on the softball diamond. With a home doubleheader sweep Saturday of Lassen College (8-6), the Bulldogs matched last year’s 17-0 start with their 17th straight win to start the season. CSM has now won 33 straight dating back to last season, and will shoot to surpass the 2025 start Thursday when San Joaquin Delta comes to town for a 2 p.m. first pitch.

The final showdown in the Coast North women’s basketball race takes place at 5 p.m. Wednesday when current leader City College of San Francisco (5-1 Coast North, 20-5 overall) plays at co-second place College of San Mateo (5-2, 13-13).

Three wins in two days. Thirteen straight wins. Just more of the same for the reigning state softball champion College of San Mateo Bulldogs. CSM (13-0) pushed its overall winning streak to 29 games, dating back to April 8, 2025, of last season, with a 10-1 win at Folsom Lake (8-3).

College of San Mateo softball won four games in three days to extend its winning streak to eight games to start the season, capped by Saturday’s doubleheader sweep.

Making free college a permanent program in the San Mateo County Community College District took another big step in the current legislative cycle through Senate Bill 968 that seeks to break cost barriers to education for county residents.

College of San Mateo’s Bulldogs are receiving national recognition, this time from the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives. Congressman Kevin Mullin, who represents California’s 15th Congressional District, delivered remarks recognizing CSM Football’s back-to-back championship run and celebrating the student-athletes who helped make it possible.

The success of the College of San Mateo football program is a known quantity here on the Peninsula. And now the rest of the world will get a glimpse into how they do things up on the hilltop, where state championship success is only one part of the equation.

College of San Mateo’s reigning state champion softball team continued its torrid 2026 start with back-to-back, mercy-rule wins over the weekend as the Bulldogs improved to 4-0. CSM, ranked No. 1 in the state, beat visiting Reedley in a Friday doubleheader — 10-2 and 15-0.

The College of San Mateo Bulldogs have been getting hits when they count. When sophomore baseball designated hitter Austin Harris returned to the lineup Saturday, the Bulldogs had yet to hit a home run through their first four games of the season.
