One of the top hitting softball teams in the state, the College of San Mateo Bulldogs rolled their their 21st straight win to open 2026 with their biggest offensive explosion yet.

CSM (1-0 Coast, 21-0 overall) opened Coast Conference play by earning overall win No. 21 of the season last Thursday with a 27-3 road win at Chabot College. The Bulldogs recorded a season-high 20 hits to go with the program’s best single-game run total since 2015.
Fourteen different Bulldogs got in the hit column, paced by leadoff batter Ale Phillips. The sophomore went 3 for 4 with a double, an RBI and three runs scored. Freshman shortstop Peyton Huber added two hits and three RBIs, sophomore Lilyana Williams had two hits with a double and two RBIs, and sophomores Katie Johnson and Maliah Castro recorded three RBIs apiece. Chabot (0-1, 1-16) committed 10 errors in the game.
With the win, CSM extends its overall winning streak to 37 games, dating back to last season. The Bulldogs are now batting .389 as a team, ranking fifth among California Community College Athletic Association teams, and second in Northern California after Taft College at .394.
The Bulldogs are now set to travel Tuesday to West Valley College for a battle of unbeatens. West Valley (1-0, 19-0) has won 19 straight to start the year. First pitch in Saratoga is slated for 3 p.m.
