College of San Mateo celebrated the Class of 2026 on Friday during its 104th Commencement Ceremony, honoring more than 400 graduates who crossed the stage before family, friends, faculty, staff, and the broader campus community.

College of San Mateo students and faculty earned major recognition earlier this month at the 16th Annual Community College Honors Research Symposium hosted at Stanford University, showcasing the strength of CSM’s Honors Project learning community and its growing reputation for undergraduate research, interdisciplinary scholarship, and transfer preparation.

College of San Mateo’s softball team concluded another historic season this weekend with a semifinal appearance at the 2026 3C2A Softball State Championship tournament, capping off one of the most dominant years in California community college softball.

On a quest to repeat as state softball champions, the College of San Mateo Bulldogs were in fine form. CSM (41-1) came out swinging, scoring in each of the first three innings to claim a 6-2 win over Saddleback College in the California Community College Athletic Association (3C2A) Softball Championship Tournament opener Thursday at Bakersfield College.

Smashing three more home runs for a school-record season total of 83, the College of San Mateo softball team completed a super regional sweep of visiting Feather River, 8-4, on Saturday and will take a two-year, 12-game, postseason winning streak to Bakersfield to begin final defense of its California Community College Athletic Association state softball championship.

Erica Dorn has her NorCal triple. And it was impressive. The College of San Mateo sophomore out of Westmoor High School, methodically won the 1,500, 800, and 5,000-meter races in succession at the Northern California Community College Track and Field Championships Saturday at Santa Rosa Junior College.

Selena Gonzales and Ale Phillips each went 3-for-3 at the plate performances as the College of San Mateo softball team began defense of its 3C2A state championship with a 12-1  mercy-rule win over visiting Lassen College Friday afternoon in a Northern California playoff opener at the College Heights campus.

The Skyline College and College of San Mateo baseball teams qualified for the 3C2A’s Northern California Regional Playoffs beginning this weekend. San Mateo, the No. 2 seed at the Modesto regional and No. 14 seed overall, will open the tourney at 11 a.m. Friday with third-seeded and 22nd-rankedReedley College (20-20). The loser faces top-seed Modesto (29-10) at 3 p.m.
