If there was a Super Bowl for jazz ensembles, it would be the Monterey Jazz Next Generation Festival, and the College of San Mateo Jazz Ensemble will be competing there on March 11.

The next time you take a walk around the campus to enjoy the fall weather, check out the current exhibits of student art.

The makerspace at CSM hosted a Salsa and Merengue workshop—a student led session on “making” dance. The space itself has the 3D printers, of course, and the Arduinos, but no technicians or dedicated classrooms.

10 digital media students were chosen to have their work included in “Show Us Your Type: Berlin Revisited 2016”, an international typography exhibit featured in Berlin and online.

When Library Director Lorrita Ford started the makerspace she gathered faculty from science, technology, engineering, art and math disciplines to gauge interest. It was then she realized how much expertise and excitement already existed in the community.

From January 4 – 29, 2015, artwork by the College of San Mateo’s Fine Arts Club artists will be on display at Twin Pine Art Center in the Manor House, 10 Twin Pines Lane in Belmont.

All three students participated in an internship program for a year at the museum, for which they received CSM independent study course credit.

CSM showcases the curatorial projects of three Peninsula Museum of Art interns/former CSM students in the College Center: Eryn Espiritu, Diana McNutt and Justine Wuebold.

Picturing the Presidio is a multi-faceted public art installation by photographer Lyle Gomes, presented in partnership with the Presidio Trust.
