The most prolific women’s swimmer in College of San Mateo history added to her legacy as sophomore Erica Vong topped the podium five times Saturday at the Coast Conference Swim Finals at Ohlone College-Fremont.

On November 13, 2016, a team of three College of San Mateo physics students took home a bronze medal in the seventh annual 2016 International University Physics Competition. Advised by CSM physics professor, Mohsen Janatpour, the students joined over 500 other undergraduate teams from colleges and universities throughout the world to compete in this prestigious event.

The world-renowned doctor is returning home to share with his native community an unconventional journey beginning as a disengaged Mills High School student and leading to recognition as an icon in the study of genomics, biology and medicine.

10 digital media students were chosen to have their work included in “Show Us Your Type: Berlin Revisited 2016”, an international typography exhibit featured in Berlin and online.

CSM headed to East Los Angeles College for the California Community Athletic Association Swimming and Diving Championships full of promise that this was the year the program would bring home its first-ever individual gold medal.

It took Nicole Borg and her softball staff at College of San Mateo a total of seven years to reach 300 victories. The Bulldogs (2-0) kicked off their campaign at home Thursday with a 6-1 defeat of Merced in the morning, then a 20-0 five-inning, mercy-rule trouncing of Yuba in the afternoon for the landmark 300th win.

Geli, SMCCCD, and ProspectSV have been awarded a grant from the California Energy Commission to partner with CSM for the “Internet of Energy” demonstration project. The project will deploy two integrated solar photovoltaic (PV) and energy storage systems that are expected to save the college $150,000 annually.

On Friday, February 20th, a special and long overdue award ceremony was held at CSM’s Hall of Fame Plaza to honor the late Kosei Kato, who was a CSM student in 1946–1947.

A team of 22 CSM math students placed 6th of 189 colleges in a nationwide Math League competition held this past fall. In addition, CSM’s team placed 4th out of 49 participating colleges within the Western region which covers California and Nevada.

A team of CSM architecture students was awarded the “Biologic Award” for “Best of Show” at the prestigious Cal Poly San Luis Obispo Design Village 2014 competition.
