CSM Electronic Music student Luis Leonorellana was part of the creative team that created “O’KANE 1.0” which won Best Film in the 2012 San Jose 48HFP Film Festival. Luis is responsible for all of the recording, original music and sound effects.

It’s been more than 25 years since she played third base for the Bulldogs. She’s now married with two children, living on the Coastside and working at Pescadero High School. But she’s not been forgotten. Freeman is part of a class of 16 who will be inducted Friday into the inaugural College of San Mateo sports Hall of Fame, including five posthumously.

On September 23, at 4pm, College of San Mateo will honor nine decades of its athletic legacy when it dedicates the Athletic Hall of Fame Plaza during a ribbon cutting ceremony. Sixteen former athletes and coaches will be inducted in the inaugural class of inductees and their names will be enshrined on granite and bronze pillars permanently on display in the Plaza.

Tim Maxwell, associate professor of English at College of San Mateo, has been awarded a Human Rights Education Fellowship for 2011-12 by the Division of International Comparative and Area Studies (ICA) at Stanford University and the Stanford Program on International and Cross-Cultural Education (SPICE).
