CSM Acting President, Dr. Richard Storti, with newly tenured faculty and Interim Vice President of Student Services, Alex Guiriba.College of San Mateo (CSM) proudly announces that seven outstanding faculty members have achieved tenure. This significant milestone is a testament to their dedication to teaching and student engagement excellence.

Tenure is more than just a title; it results from a rigorous evaluation. Faculty undergo a comprehensive four-year review, including classroom observations, student evaluations, and assessments of research and professional development activities. Successful candidates demonstrate excellence in teaching, student engagement, and a commitment to professional growth.

Special recognition goes to five of these faculty members—Leo Cruz, Manny Delgado, Doris Garcia, Andy Gomez, and Sunny Martin—who are counselors for our Promise Scholars Program, supporting 900 students at CSM. These counselors have achieved significant milestones as a team, including developing our Brothers Empower Brothers student club and the CSM Katipunan Filipnx Learning Community.

Additionally, we celebrated the achievements of Adria Otte, an esteemed professor in the Creative Arts and Social Sciences Division specializing in Electronic Music. We also honored Gil Perez, a tenured Personal Counselor whose leadership is pivotal in advancing mental health awareness on CSM’s campus.

Proudly presenting our newest tenured faculty at CSM:

  • Leo Cruz – Counselor, Promise Scholars Program

  • Doris Garcia – Counselor, Promise Scholars Program
  • Andy Gomez – Counselor, Promise Scholars Program
  • Sunny Martin – Counselor, Promise Scholars Program
