College of San Mateo will host Family Science Day this Saturday, Sept. 28, from 1 am – 11 p.m.

On August 8, 2024, College of San Mateo hosted the second annual Black Business Summit, a significant event celebrating and showcasing the vibrant community of Bay Area Black-owned businesses. This impactful gathering was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the San Mateo County Small Business Development Center (SMSBDC), the Renaissance Entrepreneur Center, the Strategic Initiatives and Economic Development Department, and the Umoja learning community at CSM.

Before the start of the fall semester, College of San Mateo (CSM) held its annual Bulldog Welcome Day, welcoming over 300 new students to campus. The event, organized by the Center for Student Life and Counseling Services, helped new students begin their academic journey with essential information and support.

When former College of San Mateo All-Conference wide receiver James Johnson returned to campus last year as a facility manager at the College of San Mateo Athletic Center, he was quick to find a way to give back.

College of San Mateo concluded the spring semester with its 102nd Commencement Ceremony on Friday, May 24. The iconic College Heights Stadium was abuzz with excitement as it welcomed hundreds of graduates from CSM’s Class of 2024. A total of 1,520 degrees and certificates were awarded, symbolizing the hard work and dedication of the graduating class. The stands were filled with the cheers of friends and family members, creating a vibrant atmosphere as the graduates entered the stadium and took their seats on the field.

College of San Mateo’s Ethnic Studies department is hosting a film series from April 15 to April 17, 2024, exploring the themes of Climate Change and Food Justice. The series will feature film screenings, keynote speakers, and discussion panels, offering a unique opportunity for the community to engage with these critical issues.

College of San Mateo (CSM) proudly announces that seven outstanding faculty members have achieved tenure. This significant milestone is a testament to their dedication to teaching and student engagement excellence.

College of San Mateo (CSM) and its Fire Technology Program hosted the NorCal Women in the Fire Service in an enriching collaboration with NorCal First Alarm Girls Fire Camp on Saturday, September 16, 2023. This groundbreaking initiative, offered without charge, spanned two days, targeting regional high school girls from grades 9–12. The event was curated to provide these budding professionals with a comprehensive introduction to the rewarding career field of fire service in the Bay Area.

The Bay Area jazz community will honor a legend this Saturday at Jazz on the Hill 2023, a free event at the College of San Mateo.

CSM’s Connect to College event on Thursday, May 4, was a resounding success, attracting over 300 attendees, including members from the local community and their families! The event was valuable for individuals interested in exploring the college’s numerous academic programs and student support services, including the college’s Free College enrollment fee waiver for qualifying San Mateo County residents.
