The 2024 California Community College Athletic Association football champ Bulldogs are set to transfer as many as 46 players on scholarship to four-year programs. There were 26 signed by winter break in December, with nearly as many signing with new schools in the spring.

College of San Mateo was one of a select number of California community colleges to be honored in the inaugural 2022 Excellence in Placement Awards, hosted by The Campaign for College Opportunity.

The Aspen Institute College Excellence Program today named College of San Mateo as one of 150 community colleges eligible to compete for the $1 million Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence, the nation’s signature recognition of high achievement and performance among America’s community colleges. Based on strong and improving in student outcomes—including in learning, completion rates, employment rates and earnings, and equity—15 percent of community colleges nationwide have been invited to apply for the Aspen Prize.

Jordan Chavez, who serves as the ASCSM secretary and a student assistant in the Office of Student Life and Leadership, participated in San Francisco State’s Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program this summer.

Harlee Donovan — who slugged 37 career homers through two years at CSM and earned 2016 California Community College Fastpitch Coaches Association Northern California Player of the Year honors — is transferring to Southern Oregon University to play at the up-and-coming NAIA program in Ashland, Oregon.
