The Associated Students of College of San Mateo invites you to a Town Hall with the candidates for State Senate, District 13. CSM alumnus Jerry Hill has served as our State Senator since 2012, and will retire this year. Five of the candidates for his seat will be on campus on February 6 to share their views.

CSM’s SparkPoint Center has a shiny new home in the Center for Equity, Leadership, & Community (Building 17). With a fully stocked food pantry and an a convenient new location, SparkPoint is ready to continue serving CSM and the broader community.

The CSM chapter of the national Phi Theta Kappa honor society earned national recognition in 2019. The Honor Society achieved “Five Star” status, which is PTK’s highest level of club activity and engagement.

The Assessment Committee and the CTL will be working to improve assessment support, and to continue to make the process meaningful, well-integrated into institutional routines, and non-onerous.

Dennis Tordesillas, longtime executive assistant to the vice president of student services, will serve as executive assistant in the SMCCCD Facilities Planning, Maintenance & Operations Department through the end of March 2020.

The Center for Equity, Leadership, & Community will be the new home of the Promise Scholars Program, Student Life & Leadership, SparkPoint and its food pantry, Mana, Umoja, Puente, the Honors Project, and Project Change.

The San Mateo County Community College District (SMCCCD) libraries will be moving to a new statewide online catalog December 20, 2019. The state catalog, called OneSearch, will be shared by 112 of the state’s 114 community colleges.
