Snoop Dogg, Montel Williams, Rocky Bleier and Chris Draft will be among the celebrities and NFL greats on hand for an exhibition match between the Wounded Warrior Amputee Football Team and local NFL alumni Feb. 6 at CSM.

Project Change is unique and the first community college supported program in California to provide wrap around student support services, direct access to post secondary education and in-person college instruction inside juvenile youth facilities.

The Super Bowl is coming to CSM. No, not THE Super Bowl. No, this is another football game held during the Super Bowl Week festivities, when the Wounded Warriors Amputee Football Team play a team of NFL alumni.

Ariana Finato and Yareli Torres from CSM were selected to receive $1,000 from AIFS and $500 from SMCCCD Foundation Study Abroad Scholarship. As part of their scholarship, they will blog about their experiences in Barcelona on a weekly basis to be shared on the Study Abroad Program’s Facebook page.

KCSM, which began as a learning center for broadcasting students, has programmed jazz full-time since 1988, outlasting KJAZ, which folded in 1994. In fact, much of that legendary station’s music library — more than 12,000 albums — is now at KCSM.

Recently, the campuses undertook an energy efficiency project to upgrade the district’s building automation and control systems and install Building Analytic, a Schneider Electric solution that provides continuous real-time analysis of all building systems.

Geli, SMCCCD, and ProspectSV have been awarded a grant from the California Energy Commission to partner with CSM for the “Internet of Energy” demonstration project. The project will deploy two integrated solar photovoltaic (PV) and energy storage systems that are expected to save the college $150,000 annually.

A concert stage is being constructed on a grassy hill at CSM in preparation for the annual Jazz on the Hill event Saturday, June 6. The free event is a day for people to relax and enjoy the campus with music, wine and beer, food truck offerings and art and crafts tables.

While some students stress about which path they may take after high school, guidance counselors are busy reminding them that myriad paths to success remain even if they will not be attending their college or university of choice.

The events will feature workshops on how to navigate California’s health insurance exchange website. There will also be one-on-one informational appointments with insurance exchange experts and free preventative health screenings.
