Staying connected is the key to Michelle Petter’s recovery from post-traumatic stress disorder, which is why she is competing in the first Valor Games Far West in San Mateo County this week.

Students from the San Mateo County Community College District are expected to be the first in California to have the opportunity to apply for a program to travel to China, free of charge.

This weekend, local youth have an opportunity to learn about a variety of topics during the San Mateo County Youth Conference. Hosted by the San Mateo County Youth Commission with the help of other San Mateo County groups, the free Saturday event at the College of San Mateo offers panel discussions with leaders, presentations with movies, how-to lessons and the opportunity to meet with a variety of local organizations.

The Associated Students of CSM sent six members of the Student Senate to Washington, DC to advocate for education on behalf of CSM students. From April 9 to 13th, the students attended various workshops on advocacy. Using information from these workshops, the students crafted a message they would share with federal legislators.
