WINTER PARK, Fla. (Softball) – Florida Tech senior utility player Lauren Cole was selected Sunshine State Conference Player of the Week for the second time this season Monday afternoon.

Cole, a product of Santa Clara, Calif., led the Panthers in hits and RBIs during their 4-1 week, which included a sweep on the road at SSC counterpart Eckerd. In the five games, she batted .471 with eight hits, three doubles, seven RBIs and one run scored. She also drew one walk and swiped one base, while reaching base safely in each game.

Her SSC selection is her second of the season. She received her first weekly award of her FIT career on Feb. 27. She currently leads all Panthers in batting average (.330), hits (37), RBIs (21) and total bases (46).

The Panthers open a three-game conference series against Lynn Friday at 3 p.m. at Nancy Bottge Field. The two teams will then meet for a doubleheader Saturday at 1 p.m. Live audio and stats will be available for all three games at FloridaTechSports.com/live.
