Capuchino High grad Michele Pilster threw a one-hitter and collected two hits and the College of San Mateo softball team remained undefeated on the season, beating visiting Solano, 8-0, in a nonconference game Tuesday.

The CSM baseball team, on the other hand, fell to visiting Diablo Valley, 10-7, on Tuesday despite a three-run double and two stolen bases from sophomore shortstop Brandon DeFazio.

The Bulldogs (1-2 overall) get another chance when they travel to Solano for a nonconference game Thursday. They return home to host DeAnza on Friday at 2 p.m.

Meanwhile, the Lady Bulldogs (7-0) recorded their fifth shutout in seven games as Pilster walked three and struck out nine. Pilster ranks second in the state with 23 strikeouts.

Terra Nova High grad Talisa Flame continued her blazing start, getting two hits, including a home run, and driving in three. She has nine RBIs on the season, second in Northern California and fifth in the state.

Mikayla Conlin also hit a home run for CSM, which hosts College of Sequoias in a doubleheader Friday at 1 p.m.

Hillsdale High grad Kaylin Stewart also had two hits, including a double. She has four doubles on the year. Stewart also has 13 hits on the season, second in the state.
