Natalie Saucedo’s grand slam with two outs highlighted a five-run third inning as the top-ranked College of San Mateo softball team ran its win streak to 20 with an 8-0, five-inning victory over visiting Monterey Peninsula College on Friday.

Ashlynne Neil got the win with five shutout innings, allowing five hits and striking out five while walking two.

CSM outhit MPC 7-5. Skania Lemus (2-for-3, double, 2 RBIs, run) and Raquel Martinez (2-for-3, run) led the CSM hitters. Brooke Ramsey and Talisa Fiame also drove in runs for the Bulldogs, who are ranked No. 1 in the state. Kayleen Smith walked twice, stole a base and scored twice for CSM.

CSM (24-1 overall, 7-0 Coast North Conference) will host Reedley College on Saturday for a doubleheader starting at noon. The Bulldogs return to conference play Tuesday at Hartnell College in Salinas at 3 p.m.

MPC fell to 9-7, 3-4 in the conference.
