Both San Mateo County Community College women’s basketball teams — San Mateo and Skyline — have advanced to Saturday’s second round of the 3C2A state basketball tournament, along with the Skyline men’s team.

No. 15 seed CSM defeated visiting No. 18 Solano College, 52-38, while Skyline swept a pair of visitors. The 14th-seeded women edged No. 19 Modesto, 62-60, and the 12th-seeded men took down No. 21 College of the Siskiyous, 82-54.

That set up Saturday night’s second round games. CSM (19-9) is at No. 2 San Joaquin Delta College (24-4) in Stockton.

The Skyline women (16-13) are at No. 3 Fresno City College (24-4), while the Skyline men (19-10) are at No. 5 Yuba college (26-2).

All games are at 7 p.m.

The 19th-seeded San Mateo men led much of the first half but got behind after the break and fell a point short with their late comeback, 95-94 at No. 14 Santa Rosa. Cañada, the 24th seed, lost at No. 9 Columbia College, 64-48.
