The Olympic and international long jump quest for Jason Smith is just moving into another gear after his solid eighth-place finish in Monday night’s U.S. Olympic Trials at the University of Oregon’s Hayward Field with a jump of 7.87 meters (25 feet, 10 inches).

College of San Mateo concluded the spring semester with its 102nd Commencement Ceremony on Friday, May 24. The iconic College Heights Stadium was abuzz with excitement as it welcomed hundreds of graduates from CSM’s Class of 2024. A total of 1,520 degrees and certificates were awarded, symbolizing the hard work and dedication of the graduating class. The stands were filled with the cheers of friends and family members, creating a vibrant atmosphere as the graduates entered the stadium and took their seats on the field.
