On March 18, 2023, College of San Mateo had the honor of partnering with Ivy and Pearls Foundation and the women of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. for the 32nd Annual Black College Awareness Fair. The event garnered participation from over 200 individuals who engaged in panels, HBCU and CSM tabling, music, scholarships, and other activities.

The new and free CSM Shuttle service for students begins on Monday, April 3, 2023, with hourly pick-ups and drop-offs between the Millbrae BART/Caltrain Station and CSM. The afternoon of Friday, January 27, 2023, was full of buzz and excitement on the College of San Mateo campus during the College’s inaugural Back to School Block Party! Over 50 academic programs, student services, and community organizations had tables at the event in front of College Center to share information and engage with nearly 500 attendees.

College of San Mateo has received funding to establish enhanced services to support foster youth and former foster youth by adding the NextUp Program, a new program within EOPS/CARE.

On Saturday, January 7, 2023, San Mateo County Sheriff-elect Christina Corpus took the stage at College of San Mateo (CSM) in front of more than 600 attendees to take her oath of office.

Early Thursday morning, the Bulldogs heard, officially for the first time, that they were named the JCgridiron.rival.com junior college/community college national champion. “I’m not real big on preseason or in-season rankings. The only ranking I care about is the last one,” said CSM head coach Tim Tulloch.

CSM’s Dance Department has a vibrant ritual of producing a full-length concert at the end of each semester. Led by Dance professor Denaya Dailey, this concert highlights faculty and student choreography, CSM dance technique classes, and guest artists from our sister schools, local high schools, and local dance studios.

CSM (12-1) put on a master class of dominance on both sides of the ball. It was 7-0 after three plays and 14-0 after 10 plays as the Bulldogs ripped off huge touchdown runs. CSM scored 21 first-quarter points and continued to pile on. Meanwhile the Bulldogs’ defense completely shut a Riverside offense that came into the game averaging 590 yards of offense per game. CSM forced five turnovers and the game was punctuated by a Kavika Baumgartner pick six in the third quarter.

College of San Mateo is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a five-year grant from the U.S. Department of Education’s Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander-Serving Institutions (AANAPISI) Program. The AANAPISI award encompasses a cooperative arrangement between College of San Mateo, Cañada College, Skyline College, and San Francisco State University, with funds totaling $2,500,000.
