As part of its ongoing engagement with community leadership, CSM hosted the 2019 San Mateo Leadership Program for its education day on December 7, 2018.

College of San Mateo is pleased to welcome Dr. Mike Holtzclaw as its next vice president of instruction. Mike currently serves as the senior dean of the San Ramon Campus for Diablo Valley College.

Kristi Ridgway has been named dean of language arts for College of San Mateo. A faculty member in English and ESL, Kristi has served as interim dean of language arts since August 2017.

Dr. Hilary Goodkind has been named CSM’s dean of planning, research, innovation, and effectiveness (PRIE). She has served as interim dean of PRIE since February 2018.

Due to the continued unhealthy air quality and projections that conditions will not significantly improve in the near future, all classes at CSM, Cañada College and Skyline College that are scheduled to begin after 4 pm today are canceled.  Additionally, all classes are canceled on Tuesday, November 20, and Wednesday, November 21, along with the pre-scheduled holiday break on Thursday and Friday.

College of San Mateo, Cañada College and Skyline College continue to be closed through November 18. The campuses are expected to reopen on Monday, November 19. San Mateo Athletic Club is open. Some events and programs not operated by the College are still taking place.

More than 170 CSM faculty and staff took part in a day of presentations, panels and professional development workshops designed to engage the campus community for Flex Day on October 10, twice as many as attended last year.

CSM has added an exciting new adjunct faculty member to its extensive roster of working artists. Pantea Karimi is a well-established artist who works in installation art, prints, virtual reality and video projection.

LaShonda Kennedy has joined CSM’s Workforce Development department as the new program services coordinator. She has extensive experience in project management, workforce development, community outreach and program development and evaluation.

David Bertini, a CSM alumnus, has become Menlo Park’s new chief of police. The appointment became official on July 8, 2018, the Almanac News reported.
