The CSM squad showcased its abilities by medaling in all four men’s disciplines and three women’s disciplines Saturday.

College of San Mateo will host the U.S. Paralympics track and field championships in June, the U.S. Olympic Committee announced Tuesday, bringing the competition to California for the first time.

CSM has used its legs to manufacture runs as Freshman shortstop Miles Mastrobuoni has swiped 18 bags on the season. As usual, the CSM track and field team has a number of standouts on throws. In the pool, CSM freshman Kawei Tan is seeded among the top five in the state in a quintet of events

College of San Mateo’s Evan McDaniel claimed the first men’s title on Saturday at the CCCAA Track and Field Championships hosted by CSM, effectively winning the shot with his first put of 55 feet 10½ inches.

College of San Mateo shot putter extraordinaire Evan McDaniel was a 175-pound thrower who qualified for the Nevada state track and field meet as a senior at Spanish Springs High School in Sparks, Nev. in 2005.

Hurdler Evan Skovronski and thrower Evan McDaniel blew away the competition to win Northern California track and field titles at American River College in Sacramento over the weekend.

College of San Mateo’s top track and field athletes passed through the Northern California Trials successfully over the weekend at American River College and will return for the finals there on Saturday.

Evan McDaniel regained the national lead and broke a 24-year-old CSM shot put record Saturday at the Maurice Compton Invitational hosted by the Bulldogs.

Evan McDaniel posted a pair of early season state throwing bests as College of San Mateo opened its 2013 track and field season Friday hosting the Coast Conference Preview meet.

On September 14, College of San Mateo will honor nine decades of its athletic legacy when it inducts 16 new members into the Athletics Hall of Fame. The distinguished list of 2012 inductees represents a wide range of success and eras over the past ninety years.
