CSM alum and Assemblyman Jerry Hill will serve as speaker for the college’s 89th commencement ceremony on Friday, May 27. Representing the 19th Assembly District, which includes San Mateo, Assemblyman Hill is currently serving his second term.

In fall 2011, the college will unveil CSM’s Athletic Hall of Fame to honor generations of men and women who have contributed to the college’s rich athletic history. The Hall of Fame Plaza, currently being designed, will be located just outside the Gymnasium.

CSM journalism students were honored by the California College Media Association with a trio of prestigious awards for their coverage of several local stories.

College of San Mateo’s new Health & Wellness Building, which opened in 2010, has been honored with the 2011 Sustainable San Mateo County Green Building Award for Non Residential.
